Seasonal Inspiration for Your Home Decor
Seasons can pass by quickly. And, in some regions, they may flow into each other so seamlessly you barely notice it.
But that doesn’t mean that your home shouldn’t reflect the current season. In fact, seasons can be great excuses for updating your home’s decor.
If you’re eager to make your house feel more like a home, here’s how you can use the time of year to spruce it up.
- Change up textures. The textures of your blankets, curtains, tablecloths and other linens should align with the seasons. Think light, airy materials in spring and summer, and increasingly heavier fabrics as the weather turns cool. (Cable-knit throw pillows and blankets are a great option for winter.)
- Swap out doormats and wreaths. Switching up your porch or entry decor is a great way to give a nod to the latest season and make your home more welcoming. Florals are a great option for spring and summer, while warm hues work for autumn and cooler tones are great for winter.
- Replace centerpieces and artwork. You can swap out centerpieces in the kitchen or dining area each season. Bright, colorful arrangements are a good choice in spring, while cornucopia-inspired pieces can be a nice option for fall. Focal pieces of art in your living space can also be swapped based on themes or color palettes.
- Bring in the right scents. Candles, incense and air fresheners all offer scents that can help you celebrate the season. Apple cinnamon is a top autumn choice, while peppermint is great for winter and pineapple or coconut offer summery aromas.
